Brantley Board Member Aaron Ammar and associates purchase the Horton Hotel

Aaron Ammar, former App State RMI student and current Brantley Risk and Insurance Center Board of Advisors member, recently took over ownership of the beloved Horton Hotel along with two other WCOB grads. They are excited about the opportunity to serve the Boone area in this way and being positive forces in the community. SPA Properties, consisting of Sean Sassano, Paul Pessina, Aaron Ammar and their families, bought the property back in August. The building at 611 W. King St. was converted into a hotel in 2019 by Denise and Fulton Lovin. The Lovins added a rooftop lounge to the building, which once served as a Studebaker dealership and a Spainhours Department store.

Aaron Ammar is the Chief Insurance Officer of two companies - Outdoorsy and Roamly. Outdoorsy’s mission is to mobilize the 54+ million idle RVs around the world to ensure everyone has the access, choice, and opportunity to safely enjoy outdoor experiences and travel while Outdoorsy empowers RV owners to realize life-changing financial benefits. Roamly Insurance Group (Roamly) is owned by Outdoorsy, one of the largest and most trusted online marketplaces for RVs. Roamly is the first RV-focused insurtech in the world, unlocking RV insurance to make owners' vehicles 'rent ready.'

When asked about the acquisition of the Horton Hotel, Aaron said "“The Horton Hotel is a special place and we are excited to continue its legacy. We are committed to providing an unforgettable experience for our guests and visitors every time they visit the property. The community is very important to us and we look forward to getting even more involved.”

The Brantley Risk & Insurance Center is impressed with Aaron and his associates' impact, and wishes the Horton Hotel continued success.
