As part of his involvement at Appalachian, Malik will travel to Bermuda on May 13-19 with Brantley Center Managing Director Dr. David Marlett and other Gamma Iota Sigma students in the International Insurance Markets class. He and several other Appalachian RMI Students also attended the NC Surplus Lines Convention in Greensboro in March of 2018. Malik has worked closely with Dr. Jamie Parson and was instrumental in the establishment of "Courageous Conversations", a Black History month panel discussion held in the Walker College of Business on diversity, inclusion, and bias in the workplace.
