Appalachian Students and Brantley Center Director Attend CPCU Meetings in San Diego

Two Appalachian State University Risk Management and Insurance (RMI) students and Dr. David Marlett, Managing Director of the Brantley Risk & Insurance Center, recently attended The Institutes CPCU Society Annual Meeting in San Diego, California.  The Institutes CPCU Society is a professional community of almost 20,000 members that fosters continual knowledge and career growth for individuals in the insurance and risk management field.

Appalachian RMI Majors, Joshua Johnson and Kate Ciesinski, were among 25 students from around the nation who were guests of the CPCU and took advantage of student sessions including Crucial Connections – Mentoring & Networking for Career Growth and Social “ME”dia – Building Your Personal Brand.  “The Loman Foundation/CPCU Society goes above and beyond for students with an interest in insurance--whether it's assisting with internship expenses or sending students to the CPCU Annual Meeting in San Diego--it's clear this organization truly cares about the future of the industry,” said Ciesinski.   Marlett and the students also appreciated the opportunity to participate in the Charlotte CPCU reception and their provision of a mentor during the event.
