IIANC Continues Support of Appstate Brantley Risk & Insurance Center and RMI Majors

The Independent Insurance Agents of North Carolina (IIANC) has made another $70,000 gift to the Brantley Risk and Insurance Center at Appalachian State University. Aubie Knight, CEO of IIANC, and 2017-18 IIANC Chair Jeff Haney recently presented the check to Walker College of Business Dean Heather Norris while on campus.

IIANC contributes annually to support the operations of the Brantley Center, which prepares Appalachian students to become industry leaders through programs including student interview guidance, resume production techniques and teaching networking and "soft skills" that complement rigorous academic coursework. The IIANC financial investment also funds scholarships for top AppState RMI majors.

"IIANC is honored to continue its long-standing support of Appalachian State and the Brantley Risk & Insurance Center. Introducing young people to the insurance industry and providing them with the support and resources needed for them to be successful remains a key initiative of IIANC," said Knight. "We are honored to continue this long-standing partnership with Appalachian and the Brantley Center."

"As career options go, the insurance industry and more specifically, the independent insurance agency business, remains one of the best kept secrets in America" added IIANC Chair Jeff Haney. "Making these types of strategic investments to assist in bringing the next generation of talent into our industry is critical to our future success."

Present for the check presentation were (pictured from left) IIANC Chair Jeff Haney, Brantley Center Associate Director Greg Langdon, Walker College of Business Dean Heather Norris, IIANC Distinguished Professor and Brantley Center Director David Marlett, and IIANC CEO Aubie Knight.

IIANC is the founding Strategic Partner of the AppState Brantley Risk & Insurance Center. The annual support of the IIANC and its members, along with the IIANC Education Foundation, helps ensure Appalachian's RMI program continues as the flagship program for insurance in the UNC System and a top program across the country.
