Appalachian students attend 2019 WSIA Extreme Risk Takers Symposium

Four Appalachian State Risk Management & Insurance (RMI) majors, along with Professor Kevin Huff, attended the WSIA Extreme Risk Takers Symposium in Chicago on March 29-31.  While at the event, the students participated in educational sessions and networked with industry professionals and RMI students from across the country.

"From internet data breaches to the use of Artificial Intelligence in autonomous cars and trucks, the Extreme Risk Takers Symposium provided students an exciting view of emerging trends in areas of complex risk that traditional insurers will not cover,” said Professor Huff. “The level of student engagement was high, with Q&A sessions that were almost as lengthy as the presentations!"

Again this year the IIANC Educational Foundation provided funding to make this trip possible in support of our students and their insurance education.
